ABOUT JARIUS HICKLEN
Life & Career
Jarius Hicklen is a talented guard from DeSoto, Texas, who proudly dons the orange and black as a member of the Oklahoma State University basketball team. Hicklen brings a dynamic presence to the court with his high bball IQ, skill set, and relentless work ethic.

Born and raised in the basketball-crazed DFW Metroplex, Hicklen developed a deep passion for the game at an early age. He quickly established himself as a standout player throughout high school, earning numerous accolades: 2019 District 7-6A Player of the Year at DeSoto high school near just south of Dallas… Was the school’s Sportsman of the Year as a senior in 2018-19… Graduated high school with a 4.0 GPA while simultaneously knocking out an Associate’s degree from Cedar Valley College. Hicklen's dedication to his craft and unwavering commitment to excellence made him a great recruit.
Jarius began his collegiate career at Oklahoma Baptist University where he dominated on the court, leading OBU to the Division II NCAA tournament 2 years in a row and to a championship of the western division of the Great American Conference. Along the way, he was named First Team All-Conference while also executing in the classroom making the Dean's List 3 of 4 semesters in his 2-year stint at OBU; graduating with his Bachelor's degree in Sports Marketing.
As a graduate Jarius decided to transfer to the University of North Florida to continue his collegiate basketball career and seek his Master’s degree. He quickly became a crucial piece in his two seasons (61 games) at North Florida of the Atlantic Sun Conference, averaging 12.2 points with the Ospreys, while sinking 169 threes (2.9-per-game) on 38.1% accuracy. Hicklen had several standout games against Power 5 competition: scoring 27 points against Florida State, 19 at Washington, 17 at Kentucky, 16 at Florida, 15 at Pittsburgh, 14 at Texas Tech, and 12 at Houston. While Hicklen experienced success on the court, off the court he doubled his success earning a Master’s in Business Management in his 2 years at UNF.
Now entering his final year as a graduate transfer, Hicklen continues to make significant strides in his basketball journey at Oklahoma State University. Known for his lightning-quick speed, explosive athleticism, and tenacious defense, Hicklen consistently impacts both ends of the floor. His ability to slash through defenses, create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates, and knock down clutch shots makes him a formidable force in the backcourt.
Off the court, Hicklen embodies the true spirit of a student-athlete. He excels in the classroom, maintaining a high GPA while balancing his academic responsibilities with the demands of collegiate basketball. Hicklen's commitment to academic excellence inspires his teammates, as he constantly emphasizes the importance of education and personal growth.
