Last season Jarius Hicklen led UNF in total points scored (359) while shooting 40% from behind the arc (33rd in the nation).
In a utility role most of last season Hicklen he was able to prove that he can excel in a D1 program; he was top five in every statistical category for the North Florida Ospreys. With his high basketball IQ and skillset he has proven to be difficult to contain.
In his first season at UNF he received a couple of conference honors: ASUN Player of the Week and
ASUN Newcomer of the Week following a streak of great games and turning things around for the Ospreys when the opportunity arose.
Jarius expressed his excitement excited for this upcoming season early last week, "I dedicated the off-season to strength & conditioning, the work is evident ...I'm ready to grind."
Off the court Hicklen gradutes with his Master’s in Management this year! 3.4 GPA, ASUN Honor Roll
NABC Honors Court (2021-22)
His number one goal is to win and help lead UNF to the big dance. While he has high expectations on the court he also has high expectations off the court as he plans to graduate with his Master’s degree this season. "It's part of the plan and standard my family established: Faith, Education, Hard work"
The season will tip off on November 7th , 2022 in Spokane vs #2 Gonzaga Bulldogs
Have a great year Jarius!
And congratulations on getting your masters degree!
We’re very proud of you. You may not remember but we chatted on the phone this summer. Mike Hicklen is married to my niece Jennifer.
Best of luck in the future.
